UK Retirees Are Heading To Panama For A Better Way Of Life

Since the nation voted for Brexit, the UK has changed, leaving millions of people fearing for their future. Although the politicians claimed the people have spoken to leave the EU, in reality only 52 per cent voted to leave. According to the experts, millions of those who did vote to leave would now vote to stay, which could beg the question, has the UK made a terrible mistake by not having a second referendum.
There are many fears about leaving the EU, one of those fears is the cost of living increasing even more than it has over the past few years. It is no secret that tens of millions of people are struggling in the UK with fuel bills, food bills, and the cost of petrol going through the roof, but with the fear of Brexit, financial experts have claimed even more people will struggle due to the higher cost of living.
Although the cost of living affects everyone, it hurts retirees, and that is why for many years now people of retirement age have moved to Spain to live cheaper. However, the good old days of Spain being more affordable than the UK have gone, and that is why around 100 people a day are moving back home looking for a new place to retire to.
One country that has become more affordable to live and one that is being called the new Spain is Panama. For those that may not have heard of Panama or may not know where it is, it’s a popular country located in Central America, bordering both the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, between Colombia and Costa Rica. It was recently voted the number one place for American retirees to move to, and now due to the low cost of living there, and the better way of life, UK retirees are making it their new home too.
For many years now Spain has been the number one country where UK retirees would move to, and although it’s still a popular country, Panama is quickly closing in as a preferred choice for a new way of life. With the great weather, affordable property prices, lower cost of living than the UK and Spain, and with so much more to offer, it’s no wonder why Panama is being called the new Spain.
According to a leading touring company in Panama called Panama Relocation Tours, more UK retirees are showing interest in moving to Panama. Since the Brexit vote, they have seen a huge increase in the number of people who have booked on their tour to see what all the fuss is about.
Jackie Lange, the owner of Panama Relocation Tours said: “Panama has always been hugely popular with American Retirees, but now we are seeing a lot of UK retirees move here for a cheaper and better way of life.”
With the retirement age increased in the UK, and with the prospect of it increasing again, as well as the fear that cost of living will continue to rise, financial experts expect more retirees and those heading towards retirement age to leave the UK and find a more affordable country to live. According to Panama Relocation Tours, Panama could be the country that tens of thousands of retirees choose for a new life.
